This one will be short and sweet as I’m mainly writing this for something to look back on in the years. But today, December 6th, 2022, is my first day as the Head of Developer Community, also known as “Leader, Technical Marketing,” at Cisco.
I just finished my first onboarding session, and I have to admit, I am not used to being on this side of the face. For over the last decade, I’ve been the one helping people onboard. So not having all (okay, most) of the answers was a bit different for me.
Since I know some of you will ask, yes, I did bring up the SpiceWorld Cisco Disco. Funny enough, one of our icebreakers was coming up with a “team name” for the new Cisconians joining, and I (1) told them how terrible I am at naming things (and generally why I don’t get to) and (2) put Cisco Disco as an option to the list of suggestions. Luckily, a different name was chosen, but the name and backstory did get a few chuckles.
